IT IS WANTING

Is a live multi-media performance collaboration between Jennet Thomas and composer Matt Rogers. It premiered to a packed crowd at Matt’s Gallery London in December 2024 as part of a new performance collective event BIG THROW.

A frenetic performance of striped, coded beings enmeshed in a system that’s of their own making, yet out of their control. Chanted and spoken words, physical performance, costumes, electronic and live music, projected video with stop-frame animations. A defiant, DIY lament to toxic automation. Ambiguities and interference patterns are embraced, as is the contradiction of the toxic and the sublime, the comic and apocalyptic. Matt Rogers and Hugo Hagger
